Kharibari, 14th May: Following the government guidelines, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in the Kharibari and Naxalbari block areas. In regard to the upsurge in COVID cases, people were seen wearing masks and maintaining social distance in mosques on this festive occasion.
Majibur Rahman of Naxalbari T Division said that Eid was observed following the COVID guidelines issued by the government. The Muslim community celebrated Eid devoutly and maintained social distance. People were seen offering Namz and greeting each other on Eid. However, this year the festival of Eid was not celebrated like every year due to the pandemic.
