Siliguri, 23rd April: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a silent protest in support of various demands including free COVID-19 vaccine, increase in vaccination centres, ensuring oxygen supply to the hospital.
The DYFI members demonstrated by standing silently in front of Siliguri District Hospital. On behalf of the organization, Udayan Dasgupta said that reports of deaths of COVID-19 patients due to lack of oxygen are surfacing from various parts of the country. Hoping such a crisis will not fall upon Siliguri, the organization is said to continue the same programme tomorrow as well. A memorandum will also be submitted to the CMOH next Monday regarding their demands.
