Duo arrested for duping one under pretext of providing job in the army

Siliguri, 30th July: The Special Operation Group (SOG) and the Detective Department (DD) arrested two members of a gang who duped a youth under the pretext of providing jobs in the army. The accused have been identified as Sanjay Kumar (27) resident of Patna and Anuj Kumar (29) from Jehanabad of Bihar. 


As per the information, Sanjay and Anuj had finalized a deal of about three lakh rupees in exchange for providing an army job to Amit Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. The Army Intelligence Bureau received a tip regarding the issue and reported it to the Siliguri Metropolitan Police. Later when the duo arrived Salbari area of Siliguri to receive the said amount, SOG and DD arrested them on spot. After this, both were handed over to the Pradhan Nagar police station.

Army’s appointment letter, fake identity cards and five mobile phones were recovered from the duo’s possession. They were presented in the Siliguri Court by the Pradhan Nagar police on Saturday. Reportedly, the police appealed for remand of the accused to investigate the matter further.
