‘Duare Vaccine’ to be launched in Siliguri

Siliguri, 12th June: Siliguri Municipal Corporation will soon launch ‘Duare Vaccine’ to provide corona vaccines to people above 70 years of age and people with disabilities at their homes. This initiative has been taken by SMC jointly with the Siliguri Welfare, Liver Foundation and will begin this month. A survey is also being carried out on behalf of the Municipal Corporation. 


The representatives of District Health Department, District Administration and Municipal Corporation including Administrator Goutam Deb held a meeting in SMC today. Deb maintained that about 4.5 lakh people have been vaccinated in the Darjeeling district. Out of these, the first dose has been given to 3.35 lakh people, while the second dose of the vaccine has been given to 1.88 lakh people. Reportedly, the vaccine will be handed over by the state government to the organizations engaged in the vaccine drive.
