“Duare Sarkar” camps to provide upto 50 percent concessions in outstanding electricity bills

Siliguri, 16th December: In a significant development, a 50 percent concession will be provided for payment of outstanding electricity bills through the “Duare Sarkar” camp of the state government.  Recently, Chief Minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee announced that the “Duare Sarkar”’ camps would commence on December 15 (Friday) for the convenience of the general public. Notably, in the camps, the representatives of the state government will listen to and resolve the requirements of the citizens.


Reportedly, in the current camp, the state government has initiated a new scheme for the people. Under the scheme, the government will be providing about 50 percent discount on outstanding electricity bills pending before 2018. The citizens attending the camps will have to pay only 50 percent of the outstanding bill and also further concessions in interest. On Saturday, Dilip Barman, the Councilor of Ward No. 46 Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) informed the people regarding the initiative.

Speaking in this regard, Councilor Dilip Barman stated that a 50 percent discount on electricity bills is being provided through the “Duare Sarkar” Camp. In the scheme, the people whose electricity bills are outstanding before the year 2018, and are unable to pay the bill due to some issues can attend the camp.
