Dooars Joint Action Committee holds gate meeting at various tea gardens

Nagrakata, 15th September: A two-day gate meeting was held on behalf of the Joint Action Committee with a demand to increase the salary of tea garden workers and provide them with a Puja bonus.


Today, on behalf of the workers' organization, gate meetings were held and dharnas were staged at various tea gardens including Dooars Jiti Tea Garden, Hope Tea Garden, Bhagatpur Tea Garden, Nagarakata Tea Garden, Hila Tea Garden, Kurti Tea Garden, Caron Tea Garden, and Luksan Tea Garden.

According to the Joint Action Committee, the two-day gate meeting was organized in support of various demands.


Reportedly, protestors will cover their faces with black clothes and stage demonstrations on September 16 and 17 against the state government. There will be a three-hour pen down strike on September 18. The organization has also informed that various programmes will be organized until September 24.
