District Magistrate holds a meeting with Bus Associations

Siliguri, 07th March: The Darjeeling District Magistrate Deepap Priya P held a meeting with the government and non-government bus associations and instructed them to keep the night service smooth.


At a press conference, the District Magistrate informed that 228 buses have been given permits for several routes including Siliguri to Panitanki, Bidhannagar, Medical College More and Khaprail More. However, it has been reported that the number of buses that ply through these routes, after 6 pm, is very less.

The DM further mentioned that the passengers, going back home from work, late at night, are facing problems due to the current situation. So, a meeting was held with the North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC) and the Private Bus Associations. Deepap Priya P further informed that instructions have been provided to submit the bus schedules at the Additional Regional Transportation Office (ARTO).
