Siliguri, 15th April: Speculations surfaced that the state government is keeping mum and reducing the figure of the total COVID-19 positive cases.

The District Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) submitted a 10-point memorandum to the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Officer Sumanta Sahay in this regard and urged the government to be transparent about the present COVID-19 situation in the state as it will help the general public remain aware of the current situation.

As per the report, a team of 4 representatives handed over the memorandum to Sahay on Wednesday under the leadership of Darjeeling District Secretary Jibesh Sarkar.

More demands such as immediate up-gradation of NBMCH’s healthcare infrastructure and proper access to medical facilities were presented through the memorandum.\
