Siliguri, 03rd February: After the frontline workers, the process of vaccinating the city’s administrative officials started from today. A vaccination camp was organized at Terai Lions Blood Bank Center in Sevoke Road, where 19 administrative officers were vaccinated.
It is to be noted that the COVID-19 vaccination started across the country on January 16. The vaccines were given in Siliguri District Hospital, Medical College, and Primary Health Centers.
Darjeeling SP, Darjeeling District ADM Sumanta Sahay, Traffic ADCP Purnima Sherpa, IC of Siliguri Police Station Sudipto Chakraborty, IC of Bhaktinagar Police Station IC, Bhaktinagar Traffic Guard IC Subir Kumar, and other officials were vaccinated today.
CMOH-3 Dr Sanjukta Liu said the Siliguri Terai Lions Blood Bank is the first non-government organization to organize a COVID-19 Vaccine Camp. 19 people were vaccinated today.
Naresh Periwal, a member of Siliguri Terai Lions Blood Bank, expressed happiness over getting the opportunity to set up a COVID-19 vaccine centre with the government’s permission.
