Malda, 20th November: On the occasion of Chhath Puja, the district administration officials inspected the Mission Ghat of Malda’s Mahananda River.
Police Super Alok Rajoria, DSP Headquarter Prashanta Debnath, IC of English Bazar Police Station Madan Mohan Roy, English Bazar Municipality Administrator and MLA Nihar Ranjan Ghosh and many others were present during the inspection.
In this regard, MLA Nihar Ranjan Ghosh said that surveillance will be carried out through drone cameras. This year, the depth of river water has decreased a lot due to which ghats have been raised. Adequate lighting has also been arranged. Besides, no fireworks will be cracked in view of the pandemic.
On the other hand, devotees have already started gathering at several ghats including Milan Ghat, Baluchar ghat, and many others.
