Dispute breaks out between Madhyamik examinees of two schools in Jalpaiguri, three injured

Jalpaiguri, 12th March: Three students sustained injuries after a dispute broke out between the Madhyamik examinees of two schools. The incident took place outside Ananda Model High School in Jalpaiguri on Saturday afternoon.


As per the information, the secondary examinees of Jalpaiguri District School and Kaliaganj Uttameswar High School are appearing for their Madhyamik exams at Jalpaiguri’s Ananda Model High School. Allegedly, a fight broke out between the students of the aforementioned schools in the washroom over some issue, two days ago. 

While the fight died down eventually, on Saturday, when the students arrived to give their Life Science examination paper, the seat numbers of the students of Kaliaganj Uttameswar High School were torn off allegedly by the students of Jalpaiguri District School. Following this, a dispute immediately broke out among the students today. After the examination, some of the students of Jalpaiguri District School allegedly beat up the students of Kaliaganj Uttameswar High School.


Three students identified as Majangir Ali, Jahangir Ali and Ejaz Hussain were injured in the incident. Later, the injured students and their parents lodged a complaint at the Jalpaiguri Kotwali police station. The injured student Majangir Ali alleged that the students of the Jalpaiguri District School beat them without any reason. He also accused the students of taking help from the outsiders.

“I came to the police station after receiving the news of the fight. The administration is being informed. Arrangements will be made to ensure that the next exam is conducted well,” Anirudh Sharma, Headmaster of Kaliaganj Uttameswar High School, maintained.

On the other hand, Dharamchand Baroi, headmaster of Jalpaiguri District School accused the students of Uttameswar High School of stirring up a fight first. “Everything has been resolved now. In the future, arrangements will be made so that the students of both the schools can take the exam well,” he added.
