Disaster response team rescues a man from Mahananda River of Fulbari Barrage

Siliguri, 15th June: In an unusual incident, a man was spotted standing in the middle of a river for two consecutive days. As the water level of the river started rising due to the recent rainfall, he was eventually rescued by a disaster response team today. The incident surfaced from the Fulbari Barrage adjacent to Siliguri.


According to local sources, the said man was spotted standing in the Mahananda River at Fulbari Barrage on Monday morning. The next day too, an atmosphere of tension spread in the area when the man was spotted standing in the same place again. Upon receiving the news, the disaster response team of NJP police and Dabgram Armed Police Barracks reached the spot and rescued him.


According to police sources, the man is presumably mentally troubled. Police are working to find out his name and identity.
