Dinhata Bank Robbery Case Solved: Police arrest three bank employees

Cooch Behar, 24th November: Within 24 hours, police solved the bank robbery case that surfaced from Nigamnagar, Dinhata, on Tuesday. 3 employees of the bank have been arrested in the incident.


As per the report, a group of three men allegedly robbed cash worth Rs 19 lakh from Uttarbanga Kshetriya Gramin Bank in Nigamnagar area under Block No. 1 of Dinhata assembly, on Tuesday. The Dinhata police reached the spot after receiving the news. The bank authorities informed the police that three men entered the bank premises posing as customers. When the cashier opened the vault, the robbers seized the opportunity and lifted around Rs 19 lakh. They managed to flee away on a motorcycle.

However, during questioning, the police learned that the bank employees did not raise the alarm at the time of the incident. As a result, the locals were unaware of the situation. This raised suspicion among the police, following which, three bank employees were detained. Later, they confessed to committing the crime themselves.


Police arrested bank’s cashier Atarul Hussain, manager Arijit Bhowmik, and another employee Chandrashekhar Barman. They were produced at the Dinhata court today.
