Dilip Ghosh takes jibe at CM’s ‘Egiye Bangla’ slogan

Siliguri, 11th August: During a press conference in Siliguri today, BJP State President Dilip Ghosh criticized the role of the State Government amid pandemic.

Taking a jibe at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Egiye Bangla’ (literal meaning: Bengal surges ahead ) slogan, Ghosh stated that the motto is apt only when it comes to the alarming COVID-19 situation in the state.

Criticizing the large sum of money being charged for the treatment of COVID-19 patients in private nursing homes, Ghosh stated that the situation in West Bengal is worsening and all citizens are “living in fear”.

The BJP State President went on to add that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had held several video conferences with the Chief Ministers of all states regarding the COVID-19 situation. During which, Ghosh allege, the West Bengal CM had nothing else to say but only to ask for money.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in West Bengal so far has now increased to 95,554 with more than 26,000 active cases. The death toll in the state has crossed the 2,000 mark.
