Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar inspected flood-affected area in Siliguri

Siliguri, 21st June: Monday night rainfall caused panic in various areas of Siliguri. Today, Siliguri’s Deputy Mayor, Ranjan Sarkar, and Mayor-Council member Manik Dey visited Siliguri Municipal Corporation’s Baikuntha Pally in Ward No. 41, dumping ground are in Ward No. 42, Ashok Nagar in Ward No. 31 and 32, Ward No. 46. They interacted with the residents and inspected the drainage system.


Apart from this, drinking water, tarpaulins, and dry fruits were distributed among the flood-affected families. Meanwhile, residents of many areas expressed outrage and alleged that they have been grappling with this issue for a long time.


In this regard, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar stated that last night’s rain was overwhelming. Despite this, the SMC staffers worked the entire night to tackle the situation and a control room was also arranged promptly. He further assured to solve the issues raised by the people at the earliest.
