Siliguri, 18th May: Following the ongoing protests, in support of various demands, including the ownership rights of shops, Siliguri Bidhan Market Byabasayee Samity continued the sit-in protest for the third day today.
Reportedly, today, at Siliguri’s Bidhan Market auto stand, traders from Hawkers Corner, Gate Bazaar, and other adjoining markets joined the protest which entered its third day, as a result of which the demands further gained momentum.
According to sources, the protesters will hold a meeting with the Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) on Friday. Speaking in this regard, they stated that, if their demands are not met, they will resort to large-scale agitations in the future.
