Jalpaiguri, 16th October: Scores of fish were found floating dead in the Teesta River near Jalpaiguri district school, on Friday.
This morning, the locals sighted several dead fishes floating in the river. Allegedly the incident took place after some person poisoned the river for fishing.
Fisheries Department has stated to launch strict operation against the wrong-doers. Meanwhile, Dr Raja Raut, secretary of Jalpaiguri Science and Nature Club, has also demanded stringent punishment against the accused.
