Siliguri, 22nd December: Sensation prevailed in the area after a body of a person was found hanging from a noose in a hotel room located in Ward No. 12 of Siliguri. The deceased has been identified as Pradeep Kumar Roy, a resident of Malda. According to the information, Pradeep had come to Siliguri on the 9th of December in association with business with his friend. He and his friend were staying in the said hotel room since then.
Meanwhile, on December 16, Pradeep’s friend left. Since then Pradeep was living alone. Reportedly, last night when the hotel management got suspicious when Pradeep did not open the door after this, they informed the Panitank Out Post about the incident.
As soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot and when they opened the door, they found Pradeep hanging from the ceiling fan. After this, the police recovered the dead body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. However, no suicide note has been recovered as of now. At present, the police are trying to find out the cause of his death.
