Siliguri, 04th June: An initiative is being taken to start a Day-Care Cancer Therapy Unit at Siliguri District Hospital. Mayor Goutam Deb and District Chief Medical Officer of Health Tulsi Pramanik held a meeting with Rogi Kalyan Samiti at Siliguri District Hospital today. Various issues including the opening of a day-care cancer therapy unit and hospital care were discussed in the meeting.
Superintendent of District Hospital Pradeep Bhattacharya stated that the number of beds in the hospital has been increased and there are plans to start a day-care cancer therapy unit. Simultaneously, surgery has been started in the orthopedic department of the hospital.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the patients who came to the hospital stated that if these units are undertaken as planned by the higher authorities, then the general public would n have to travel to other parts of the state for the treatment.
