Darjeeling District Magistrate holds a meeting regarding coronavirus in Siliguri

Siliguri, 06th March: The Darjeeling District Magistrate Deepap Priya P held a meeting, today, with the officials of the District Health Department in Siliguri Circuit House. Discussions regarding the coronavirus and how to prevent it were held in the meeting.


Addressing the reporters after the meeting, Deepap Priya P stated that no one has been reported to be suffering from the coronavirus in the Darjeeling district. However, an atmosphere of fear has definitely been witnessed. Therefore, to eradicate the fear, a meeting has been held to raise awareness among the District Health Department and the people of the city.

On the other hand, the State Health Department has strictly instructed that the health of the people, in the border areas, and the people coming to the Bagdogra Airport should be examined.


Deepap Priya P further stated that the Medical College is ready to tackle the disease. He also stated that some schools have also been instructed to raise awareness regarding the coronavirus in the Darjeeling district.

    Please make it compulsory for everyone to use mask..especially schools .please make masks easily available and there are boarding schools like St.Michaels school who will have children and parents
    coming from outside siliguri and also abroad soon in March .Please force theses schools to take precautionary measures..Spread awareness regarding covid 19.
