Siliguri, 14th July: A 12-hour strike across the entire North Bengal has been called by the Bharatiya Janata Party, as a sign of protest against the mysterious death of Devendra Nath Roy, BJP MLA of Hematabad under North Dinajpur district on Monday.
Reportedly, the Dabgram Mandal BJP, on Tuesday, staged a rally in support of the bandh. The Ashigarh outpost police arrested several BJP leaders and activists from the rally.
Police also arrested Jalpaiguri District Vice-President Shikha Chatterjee, Dabgram Mandal President, and many other activists.
