Cyclone Amphan: PM Modi arrives Kolkata for a survey, death toll rises to 80 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kolkata, on Friday, to survey the damage caused by the cyclonic storm Amphan. The PM was received by Governor Jagdeep Dhankar and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. After an aerial survey of the affected areas in Bengal, PM Modi will visit Odisha. 


The cyclonic storm Amphan ravaged Kolkata and several parts of West Bengal, on Wednesday, taking the death toll to 80. The devastating cyclone destroyed thousands of houses, farmlands, crops, uprooted trees and electric poles.
