Islampur,15th February: Sensation prevailed after the body of a CPI(M) leader was recovered in the Patno area of Dalkhola police station under Uttar Dinajpur district. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq (55), the branch secretary of the party.
According to sources, the locals found the body of Mohammad Rafiq in an empty space at the roadside, on Monday. Following which, the incident was reported to the police. Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for an autopsy.
The locals assumed that the miscreants killed Rafiq with a sharp weapon. The Dalkhola police have started an investigation into the incident.
