COVID patient goes missing from Jalpaiguri COVID Hospital, family members approach police

Jalpaiguri, 13th May: The family members of a COVID-19 positive patient approached the police after the patient went missing from Jalpaiguri COVID Hospital.


It has been learned that the patient, a resident of the East Batabari area of ​​Chalsa in Jalpaiguri district, was admitted to Jalpaiguri Biswabangla COVID Hospital on May 11. After being unable to communicate with him over the phone since this morning, the family members reached the hospital and found out that the patient was missing from the hospital. The patient left his mobile phone at the hospital.

A complaint has already been lodged with the district chief health officer on behalf of the family. They demanded proper investigation into the matter.


Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital Superintendent Gayaram Naskar said that the hospital staff noticed that the patient was not in his bed this morning. Police have started an investigation.
