COVID-19 impact: West Bengal government to promote all class 11 students to the next standard without any examination

During a meeting at the State Secretariat Nabanna, the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, declared that all the students (both government and private schools) studying in class 11 will be promoted to the next class without any annual examination and the remaining exams of class 12 will be held in the month of June.

Amid closed schools, suspended classes and canceled exams, the government is trying its best to continue the learning process among the students. However, conducting annual examinations is not feasible as it goes against the norms of social distancing as directed by the central government.
