Councillor Ranjan Sil Sharma distributes Chhath Puja items among worshippers in Siliguri’s Ward No. 36

Siliguri, 05th November: The grand festival of Chhath Puja began on Tuesday with the “Nahaye-Khaye” ritual, marking the start of the four-day celebration. As part of the preparations, Ranjan Sil Sharma, the councillor of Ward No. 36 in Siliguri Municipal Corporation, distributed essential puja materials and clothes to the worshippers.


On Tuesday, approximately 80 devotees received the offerings. Councillor Sharma stated that the number of Chhath worshippers this year has significantly increased compared to previous years. He added that around 400-500 devotees would be provided with the required materials for the festival.

In addition to the distribution, cultural programs will be organized throughout the night at the Chhath Ghat, and ‘Khichdi’ will also be distributed to the devotees.
