Coronavirus Vaccine Trial: First person injected with trial vaccine in Seattle

The first testing in humans of an experimental vaccine for the new coronavirus began, on Monday. A 43-year-old woman from Seattle has been injected the vaccine at the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute in Seattle. The vaccine was made by Moderna Inc. The American researchers started preparing the vaccine when the news of the coronavirus outbreak was reported in China. The main goal of this first set of tests is to find out if the vaccine is safe. If it is safe, further studies will determine how well it works.


Meanwhile, the President of the USA has congratulated the team of researchers who prepared the coronavirus vaccine.
