Coronavirus pandemic: Administrative meeting held in Rajganj

Rajganj, 30th May: An administrative meeting was held on Saturday at the Rajganj BDO office along with the Gram panchayat Pradhans. Discussions regarding the arrangements to be taken for quarantining the workers returning from different states were held during the meeting.


Rajganj MLA Khageshwar Roy, BDO NC Sherpa, Panchayat Samiti President Purnima Roy, District-in-Council member Debashish Pramanik, BMOH Shubhadeep Sarkar and Rajganj police officials were present during the meeting.

MLA Khageshwar Roy stated that the migrant workers returning from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi should be kept in institutional quarantine. Currently, the Lions Group has a total of two institutional quarantines in the block. Besides, Jain Bhawan in the Radharbari area and Marwari Bhawan in Siliguri two-mile area have also been set up as quarantine centers. All the Gram Panchayat authorities have been asked to provide the details regarding the number of workers of their respective areas who are currently staying in the aforementioned states. Following which, necessary steps will be taken.


Apart from this, the Gram Panchayat authorities have been asked to form a committee comprising of the local clubs, voluntary organizations, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, and public representatives. The committee will then launch awareness campaigns on the importance of social distance and hygiene.
