Congress’s protest against fuel price hike, performed last rites of bike-scooty

Siliguri, 17th July: The uproar continues over the rising prices of essential commodities including petrol, diesel and LPG. The opposition is constantly surrounding the government on the issue of inflation. Likewise, Congress protested in a unique way against the endless increase in the prices of petrol and diesel and the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities, today in Bagdogra.


Petrol prices have crossed Rs 100 per litre in various states of the country. There’s a similar situation in most of the districts of West Bengal. The prices of LPG cylinders have also increased. Condemning this, protests were held in Bagdogra today against the BJP led central government. 

The Congress leaders and workers took out a protest rally from Panighat More. In the rally, the last journey of a scooty and motorcycle placed on top of a van was taken out. After this, one of the activists shaved his head symbolizing Mundan on the side of the Asian Highway, A Pandit was also called to perform the last rites of the vehicles.


Congress leaders and workers said that the country’s economy is dead. And so they held the protest to condemn the rising prices of essential commodities including petrol, diesel and LPG.
