Conflict between two parties in NJP station, police worker injured

Siliguri, 01st November: A huge conflict broke out between two parties over the alleged encroachment of the truck stand in NJP station area, on Monday morning.


Several sticks, stones, and iron rods were allegedly stored in the area beforehand. Upon receiving the news, the NJP police reached the spot. A police worker was injured while intervening in the scuffle. Following this, a large police force of the NJP police station reached the spot and resorted to lathi-charge. Later, DCP Joy Tudu and ACP Shuvendra Kumar arrived and detained five people from the scene.

Meanwhile, expelled Trinamool leader Prasenjit Roy’s name also came to light after the incident. However, it has been learned that he was not seen at the NJP station premises for a long time.
