Siliguri, 10th July: In light of the alarming coronavirus positive cases across the city, a complete lockdown has been imposed in 9 different wards of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) starting last evening.
Reportedly, the wards are under strict police surveillance since this morning. Barricades have also been put up on behalf of the SMC. Police officials of different police stations took to the streets to make sure the lockdown is being followed properly.
Also, shops excluding emergency services have been shut down. Several lockdown violators have also been detained.
