Siliguri, 27th May: Advocate Rinki Chatterjee Singh has filed a complaint against former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Siliguri Cyber Crime Police Station over alleged remarks targeting Hindutva and the Hindu community.
According to the complaint, Mamata Banerjee allegedly made controversial remarks during an Eid programme held at Kolkata’s Red Road in 2025.
Complainant Rinki Chatterjee alleged that when she had earlier approached Pradhan Nagar Police Station to lodge a written complaint regarding the matter, police refused to accept it. She also alleged that she was mistreated during the process.
Additionally, allegations have been raised over another purported controversial remark made against Hindus from a protest stage ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections. Citing both incidents, a fresh complaint has now been lodged at the Siliguri Cyber Crime Police Station.
The incident has triggered fresh political discussion in the state. However, no reaction has yet been issued by the Trinamool Congress regarding the allegations.
