Siliguri, 10th October: A programme was organized today under the initiative of Dagapur Morning Club to raise awareness about sports among school children.
Commissioner Gaurav Sharma was present as the chief guest in this programme. He distributed footballs, jerseys, shoes, sports materials among 60 children today.
It is noteworthy that Suraj Chhetri, an officer of the police department, took a new initiative to create awareness towards sports by setting up a morning club in Dagapur from the year 2014. He has also made arrangements to educate needy children of tea plantations and basty areas.
The main objective of Dagapur Morning Club is to provide free football training to the school children. Hence, a programme was organized today on behalf of Dagapur Morning Club to distribute sports materials among the children.
Commissioner Gaurav Sharma highly praised the initiative taken and said that Suraj Chhetri, Officer, Cyber Department, Siliguri Metropolitan, and his team of Morning Club have made a good start. He said that Suraj Chhetri is playing the role of a responsible citizen as well as a true police officer. This new initiative of Suraj Chhetri is quite commendable.
Commissioner Gaurav Sharma, Headquarters DCP Amitabho Maiti, ACP DD Rajen Chhetri were present in today’s programme.
