Siliguri, 25th October: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee arrived for her North Bengal tour on Sunday. Following which, she attended the ‘Vijaya Sammelani’ programme in Siliguri’s Baghajatin Park, where she addressed various issues and took a jibe at the central government.
Countering the CM, Siliguri’s BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh alleged that although the CM is on an official visit, her words prove that the tour is absolutely ‘political’.
“During the programme yesterday, she spoke about Durga Puja, the greatest festival of Bengalis, but did not utter a word regarding the attack on Hindus in Bangladesh, vandalism in Iskcon and so many other temples,” Ghosh added.
