CM to inaugurate Uttar Banga Utsav on January 20

Siliguri, 11th January: At a press conference in Mainak Tourist Lodge, on Saturday, the State Tourism Minister, Goutam Deb, informed that the 9th Uttar Banga Utsav will be organized from January 20th and will be inaugurated by the State Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee.


He informed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the Uttar Banga Utsav at the Atharakhai Maidan on January 20th at 3 pm. He further informed that the Chief Minister has instructed each of the districts to organize a one-day or a two-day Uttar Banga Utsav. He informed that the Uttar Banga Utsav will begin simultaneously in Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Rajganj, Raiganj, Darjeeling, Mirik, Kalimpong, Alipurduar and many more districts.

A painting competition will be organized on January 23th at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri as part of the Uttar Banga Utsav. On January 28th, the winners of the painting competition will be awarded medals and certificates. The Half Marathon and Fun Run will be held on the 26th of January. The winners will be honored at the Siliguri College ground on Republic Day itself.


The Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, will also felicitate 9 people with the Banga Ratna Samman, on the 20th of January. Meanwhile, ten meritorious students from each district will also be provided with scholarships. Also, a two-day cultural program will be organized at the Biswa Bangla Haat and Rabindra Mancha under the Uttar Banga Utsav.
