Siliguri, 26th July: Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is scheduled to arrive in Siliguri on Monday as part of his North Bengal visit. During his journey from Bagdogra Airport to Jalpaiguri, he will inaugurate the much-awaited Burdwan Road flyover, a key infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic congestion in the city.
Ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit, the district administration and police have intensified preparations for the inauguration ceremony. Security arrangements at the venue are being finalized, with authorities on high alert to ensure the event is conducted smoothly.
Siliguri Police Commissioner Syed Waquar Raza visited the flyover to review the security arrangements along with senior police officials. The inspection focused on VIP movement, traffic management, barricading, deployment of security personnel, and surveillance along the Chief Minister’s route.
Police personnel will be stationed at key locations, traffic diversions will be enforced where necessary, and comprehensive security measures have been put in place to ensure the inauguration proceeds without any disruption.
The Burdwan Road flyover is expected to significantly improve traffic flow in Siliguri by reducing congestion on one of the city’s busiest corridors. Following the inauguration, the flyover will be opened for public use.
