Clash between two families leaves three severely injured in Siliguri

Siliguri, 05th November: An incident of dispute and assault between two families has come to light in the Raipara area adjacent to the IOC under the jurisdiction of the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station. The incident left three individuals severely injured. The injured were later admitted to a nursing home located on Siliguri’s Sevoke Road.


As per reports, a few days ago, Anand Roy, Utsav Roy, and Tukai Ray had indulged in a verbal argument with two youths Krishna Roy and Pintu Roy, over some issues. On Saturday night, Anand, Utsav, Tukai, and their family members allegedly attacked Krishna, Pintu, Abhishek Roy, and Kalipada Roy with iron rods. Consequently, Krishna, Pintu, and Abhishek were injured and had to be admitted to the hospital for medical care.

On Sunday, Kalipada Roy filed a complaint at NJP police station against Anand, Tukai, Utsav, and two other members of their family. In this regard, Kalipada stated that the three brothers had a dispute with his nephews when he was out of town. He added that, after returning home, as he went to enquire about the reason for the dispute, he was allegedly attacked. Meanwhile, Parul Roy alleged that a gambling den had been set up in the area which triggered the dispute.
