Chinese national arrested at Indo-Nepal border

Panitanki, 14th September: SSB arrested a Chinese national at the Indo-Nepal border during routine checking. The arrested accused has been identified as Choejor Woeser. The jawans also arrested Pema Bhutia, a resident of Siliguri's Pradhan Nagar, on the charge of holding illegal documents and assisting him.

It has been learned that the accused Chinese national was on his way to enter Nepal illegally. However, before he could succeed, he was nabbed by the SSB jawans of the 41st Batallion of Panitanki. Although born in Tibet, Choejor Woeser is a citizen of the United States. An American passport, Indian PAN card, a New York license, a mobile phone, Nepalese- Indian currency, birth certificate, and a plane ticket were recovered from his possession.

Indian citizen Pema Bhutia was also arrested in the incident. The arrested individuals have been handed over to the police.
