Siliguri, 07th July: After a COVID positive man died while undergoing treatment at the hospital, his mourning wife, along with their two children, tried to commit suicide on Tuesday. The incident caused a stir in the Pradhan Nagar enclosed area.
According to the information, the infected, who was a school teacher by profession, had been admitted to the District Hospital a few days ago following illness. He breathed his last at the hospital yesterday after his COVID-19 report came back positive.
Upon receiving the news, the deceased’s wife, with their two children, walked out of the house this morning. According to family sources, she went straight to NJP station with the children.
Anguished by the death of her husband, the woman tried to commit suicide by jumping on the railway line with the children.
Fortunately, the three were rescued and have been admitted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Meanwhile, the news has created a stir in the locality.
