Cattle smuggler arrested from Phansidewa border area

Phansidewa, 20th June: In a joint operation operated by the police and Border Security Force(BSF), a man was arrested for smuggling cattle. The accused has been identified as 35-year-old Mohammad Abdul Rahim from Bangladesh.


On Sunday late night, the man was arrested from Dhania More on the Indo-Bangladesh border. Upon interrogation, he confessed to entering India illegally through the barbed wire fence to smuggle cattle. He was produced in the Siliguri court today.

In this regard, Darjeeling District Rural DSP Achintya Gupta stated that a close watch will be kept on the border areas to avoid such crimes.
