Cannabis smuggling under guise of tomatoes foiled, one arrested in Cooch Behar

Cooch Behar, 22nd September: In a significant breakthrough, a pickup van driver was apprehended for smuggling cannabis under the guise of tomatoes.


According to reports, late on Thursday night, the police of Jorai Outpost of Bakshirhat police station launched an operation at the Sankosh area near the said police station on the Assam-Bangladesh border and halted a pickup van. During the search, approximately 580 kg of cannabis, cleverly hidden under the tomatoes, was recovered from the vehicle.

Following this, the pickup van driver was arrested on the charge of smuggling. Currently, police are engaged in detailed investigation of the entire incident.
