Camel of Rajasthan rescued by Animal Helpline from a house in Siliguri

Siliguri, 11th February: Sensation prevailed after a camel of Rajasthan was found being kept illegally in a house in Siliguri.


       

Priya Rudra, the founding president of Animal Helpline Siliguri, said that she learned about the camel being kept in a house in Siliguri Shantipara area through a tip-off. The organization members immediately launched an operation and probed the said house, this morning. They rescued the animal and handed it over to the NJP police.


According to the Animal Helpline Siliguri, Rajasthan’s camels now fall among the endangered species. The numbers of the animal are decreasing mainly because they are being slaughtered and smuggled. A written complaint has been lodged in this regard at the NJP police station.
