Siliguri, 20th April: Theft in Sitala Para area of Siliguri’s Ward No. 31 has left residents shocked, with miscreants reportedly stealing around ₹15 lakh in cash along with nearly 300 grams of gold jewellery.
According to sources, the incident took place while the family members were away at work, having locked their house before leaving. Upon returning in the afternoon, they found their home ransacked, with belongings scattered across rooms. The theft came to light soon after.
The matter was promptly reported to the New Jalpaiguri police, who arrived at the scene and began an investigation. Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify those involved in the crime.
