BSF will work maintaining cooperation with the police: IG of BSF North Bengal Frontier Ravi Gandhi

Siliguri, 18th November: During a press conference in Siliguri on Thursday, IG of BSF North Bengal Frontier Ravi Gandhi said that from now on, BSF will work maintaining cooperation with the police.

“Although the working area has been increased, the capacity remains the same. As a result, there will be no problem,” he added.

Recently, in some states, including West Bengal, the jurisdiction of BSF has been extended from 15 to 50 kilometres. The state government is opposing this since then. Allegations have also been raised regarding undermining federal infrastructure.

Furthermore, another press conference was held at the BSF office in Kadamtala today. However, the IG did not speak on the issue and asserted that the BSF works per the rules and in a professional manner. BSF has been working in the interest of the villagers of the India-Bangladesh border area.

He further invited all to inquire with the police if there are any allegations against BSF personnel. “If any crime is proved against any worker, punishment will be given,” he said.
