Rajganj, 16th December: BSF and Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) organized a joint retreat at the Fulbari border, on Thursday. On the occasion of Bangladesh Vijay Diwas, BSF and BGB jawans jointly performed a parade at Zero Point on the Indo-Bangladesh border.
This year is the golden jubilee year of Bangladesh’s independence. Many Indian soldiers were martyred in that war. Since then, December 16 has been celebrated as Vijay Diwas by the Government of India as well as Bangladesh.
Ravi Gandhi, IG of BSF’s North Bengal Frontier, said that the event held on the occasion of the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s Independence Day would further strengthen ties between the two countries.
