Siliguri, 12th January: The SOG and Ashighar outpost police jointly launched operations and arrested four persons at Kankata More under Bhaktinagar Police station. The arrested accused have been identified as Kamal Sk of Hatgobindapur, Monirul Islam of South 24 Parganas, Samsul Alam of Bajbaj Pujali, South 24 Parganas, and Md. Meherul of Biswas Colony, Matigara.
Upon searching, 3.5 kilograms of brown sugar was recovered and seized from their joint possession. The market value of the seized drugs is approximately Rs 7 crores.
