Siliguri, 23rd January: Just a few days from the Republic Day celebrations, a bomb scare was reported in Siliguri on Sunday afternoon. Sensation prevailed after a suspicious looking red suitcase was found inside the coach of Intercity Express parked on platform No. 01 of Siliguri Junction railway station.
Reportedly, the unattended suitcase was found in the coach of Intercity Express which reached Siliguri from Alipurduar. Acting promptly, the railway authorities evacuated the train and the platform. Furthermore, the CID Bomb Detection & Disposal Squad was immediately informed. At present, the Bomb Squad is looking into the matter. Further details awaited.
