Fulbari, 11th September: The body of the 23-year-old youth Mrigank Chaudhary who drowned in Fulbari Teesta Canal was recovered from the Laxmi Jote area on Monday morning.
It has to be noted that, on Saturday night, Mrigank, a resident of Siliguri’s Ward No. 30 went to the canal along with his friend. During this, he accidentally fell and was washed away by the strong water current.
Later on Sunday, New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police and Disaster Management team arrived at the spot and initiated a rescue operation. The following morning, the body was recovered after a prolonged effort and was transported for post-mortem examination.
