Raiganj, 20th July: Sensation prevailed after the body of a 50-year old man was found hanging from a noose in South Bishnupur village of Gauri Gram Panchayat under Raiganj Police Station. The deceased has been identified as Debesh Barman, the booth president of the National Congress of Gauri Gram Panchayat.
According to local sources, Barman stepped out of his house on Monday evening. As he did not return home that night, his family members started searching for him. Following which, the locals were shocked to find his lifeless body hanging from a tree near their residence the next morning.
Upon receiving the news, the Raiganj police rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to Raiganj Government Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
