Dooars/Madarihat, 30th April: Sensation prevailed after the lifeless body of a youth, identified as Jiyarul Islam (25), was found hanging from a noose in the Jaldapara forest premises. The deceased was a resident of the Madarihat Bazar area.
As per the reports, Jiyarul went missing from the past three days. His family members had also lodged a missing complaint at the Madarihat Police station.
The forest department officials, upon sighting a dead body hanging from a tree on Thursday morning, reported the incident to the Madarihat police, who reached the spot shortly after, recovered the body and sent it to the Alipurduar hospital for an autopsy.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
